New Album "Sue Ann ~ Homage to Antonio Carlos Jobim" Released Today. Music Video for "A Felicidade" Now Available.
The new album "Sue Ann ~ Homage to Antonio Carlos Jobim" is released today.
This is a tribute album to Antonio Carlos Jobim, the great bossa nova composer who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in January 2027. The album was recorded as a duo with pianist Masaki Hayashi.
From well-known songs like "Agua de Beber" and "Chega de Saudade" to hidden gems, this work freshly expresses the musical essence of Jobim with an intimate sound that allows you to hear each other's breaths.
Saxophonist Sadao Watanabe participates as a special guest on three tracks, and the liner notes for the CD/LP were written by author Haruki Murakami.

This album, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Antonio Carlos Jobim's birth, was produced in collaboration with pianist Masaki Hayashi.
The participation of saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, who was friends with my father, was a special encounter filled with deep respect and gratitude for me.
Listening intently to each note, feeling even the breaths and silences, I quietly confronted the delicacy and beauty of Jobim's music.
I was deeply impressed by the clear, penetrating tone of Sadao's saxophone, and the strength and deep kindness that naturally emanated from it. His sound, which speaks beyond words, brought a solid spirituality and warmth to this album.
I hope this work reaches the hearts of those who listen to it as a small "consolation (Consolação)".
May the quiet light and beauty of Jobim's music transcend time and borders to warmly embrace someone's heart.

Medley of Jobim's Masterpieces Released in Advance from New Album "Sue Ann ~Homage to Antonio Carlos Jobim~"
From the new album "Sue Ann ~Homage to Antonio Carlos Jobim~" to be released on Wednesday, April 8th, a medley of "Wave ~So Danço Samba~ One Note Samba" has been released in advance.
This is a number that performs three of Jobim's representative songs in a medley format, and "Wave" will be Lisa Ono's first recording.

Hana wa Saku: 10 Years After the Earthquake Project
In 2021, marking 10 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, NHK planned a project to broadcast "Hana wa Saku" in 11 languages to the world.
The sentiment of "Hana wa Saku" to the world: This song, which has comforted those who bore deep sorrow after the earthquake and supported reconstruction, I sang in Portuguese.
